Your Guide to Collingwood Breweries

The tasty offerings of Collingwood breweries are a welcome surprise for those who visit the area for all the outdoor activities. Visitors can enjoy a number of craft brewing options now!

Do you enjoy sampling the new flavours created by the local brew masters in all the places you visit? If so, these Collingwood breweries should be on your list of places to go when you get here.

Side Launch Brewing

With a name that’s gives a respectful nod to Collingwood’s ship-building past, (shipbuilders launched finished ships sideways into Georgian Bay), Side Launch Brewing opened in 2014. The company almost immediately reserved a spot on the Canadian beer-making map. Side Launch won the 2016 Brewery of the Year Award from the Canadian Brewing Awards & Conference.

You can visit the brewery, located about halfway between Collingwood and Blue Mountain Village, seven days a week. While there, enjoy one of their traditionally-brewed beers that adhere to the 16th-century Bavarian purity laws. Or better yet, pick up a souvenir from their well-stocked gift shop.

The Collingwood Brewery

Located on the other side of town from Side Launch, the Collingwood Brewery likes to mix things up a little. In addition to their mainstay beers, including Downhill Pale Ale, Kingsport ESB and Rockwell Pilsener, they roll out seasonal brews that are available at different times of the year. A tour of the brewery sets off every hour on Saturdays and can be booked on alternate days.

Northwinds Brewhouse

If you get thirsty or hungry on your way from Side Launch to the Collingwood Brewery, you can stop in at the Northwinds Brewhouse. There you can enjoy skateboard flights featuring samples of the 16 brews on tap. Plus, order from an eclectic pub menu that includes duck fat fries and jars of warm pretzel bites. The Northwinds is open from 11:30 am to 11:00 p.m. every day.

If your circle of craft brew aficionados would like to enjoy all the delicious brews of the area, but you don’t want to drive far (or better yet, take a taxi) to do so, why not treat yourself to a fully-equipped chalet right next to Blue Mountain? Contact Stay at Blue Mountain to learn more.
